Microsoft announced several major new features for its Edge browser, including integration with Microsoft Editor, which was announced a few months ago. In addition, there is a new network selection feature that makes it easy to copy what you find on the web, including forms.

Microsoft editor integration is what you expect. Editor is a competitor between Microsoft and Grammarly, and like its competitors, it is usually an installable browser extension. It provides users with grammar and punctuation corrections and suggestions to make the text easier to read. This feature is now built into the Edge browser, so you don't have to bother to install the extension.

Editors in Microsoft Edge support more than 20 languages, but only for the main languages used by browsers. In addition to grammatical corrections, Microsoft says it will soon start publishing text predictions in English, Spanish, French, language and Portuguese, promising to let you write what you want to say faster.

Another new feature is interesting, which Microsoft announced two years ago. It is called network selection, although it was called a smart copy when it was first released. In essence, this feature makes it easier to select formatted content on the Web, such as tables, images, and text. For example, you can quickly select the entire paragraph in the original format, or copy only the cells in the table that you want to copy. You can then paste the content and its original format into an OneNote or Word document, for example.

Web Select / Smart replication has been being tested since November 2020, so it will take a long time to make it available to the public. Don't confuse this with a network capture, which allows you to intercept a web page and comment it directly before sharing or saving it. This feature has been around for a longer time, and because it's just a screenshot of the page, it's a little less impressive.

If you want to try out these features, make sure you are running the latest version of Edge by going to the three-point menu in the upper-right corner and selecting help and feedback-> about Microsoft Edge. These changes may take some time to show up, but rest assured that they are now being rolled out.
