In this paper, we focus on how to build an effective service governance platform, without saying much, directly into the whole. The construction of service governance platform is based on three levels: "management", "measurement" and "management and control". Specifically, it can be divided into six levels, namely: service management process system, service governance platform, service governance core architecture, service agreement specifications, service support tools, service operation environment. The specific relationships at six levels are shown in the following figure:

Service governance framework

At present, no matter what type of service governance core framework, whether open source or self-built, there is little difference at the functional level, but the technical implementation is different. However, as far as landing practice is concerned, self-building is much more difficult than relying on existing open source projects. Therefore, this focus is based on open source projects, and the selection of a core framework for service governance mainly involves three factors: developers' knowledge reserve, business / application requirements, and current technology trends in the industry. At present, there are three main core frameworks for service governance: spring-cloud framework, dubbo framework and service mesh framework. Specific framework comparison, the follow-up will be a detailed analysis.

Service agreement specification

Service agreement specification is divided into four levels: service interface, service integration, service template and data specification.

Service interfaces consider the interface type and the interface protocols associated with it, such as http protocol, or rpc protocol, etc.

Service integration focuses on the unified protocol and communication mode in the process of integration.

The service template framework mainly describes the unified template information and framework information needed to develop services.

Data specifications need to rely on clear naming conventions and data request format specifications to facilitate information processing in the process of service governance.

Service support tool

The supporting function of service governance can be divided into three levels: governance support service, functional support service and offline support service.

Governance support services include service registration / discovery, flow control, fault-tolerant circuit breaker, service upgrade / rollback, link tracking, route distribution, timeout retry, intelligent recovery and other support tools integration.

Functional support services include monitoring and alarm, log services, authentication, metering and billing, message services, load balancing, persistence services, network management services and other support tools.

Offline support services include DevOps process support services and running environment support.

Service operating environment

Specifically, the current service running environment includes physical running environment, container running environment and mesh running environment. The service governance platform needs to support different operating environments.

Service governance portal

The construction of service governance portal is considered from five levels, including data collection, storage warehouse, tool aggregation, comprehensive analysis, and service portal.

The service portal takes the business / application / service as the organization way of the portal to realize the three-dimensional integrated control platform of analysis, management and statistics.

Comprehensive analysis depends on post-processing service indicators, integration of data, visualization of the current service status and prediction of a certain stage of service status.

The tool aggregation service support tool ensures the integrity of the service ecosystem and can manage, record and feedback the service status.

The storage warehouse stores the collected logs, performance, links and other service-related data.

Data acquisition means that proxy + agent obtains link or service data through interception / bypass monitoring, and can report it to the storage warehouse.
