Here will prompt you, the following will partition, will initialize the disk, the data on the disk will be lost, ask if you want to initialize the device and erase the data on the disk. Select "Yes" because it is empty.

At this point, it's time to partition. There are four ways for you to choose.

First, remove all partitions from the selected disk and then partition them in the default way

Second, remove all linux partitions on the selected disk (not if there are windows partitions on the disk), and then partition by default

Third, only the free portion is used on the selected disk and partitioned by default

Fourth, user-defined.

Here we choose the fourth one. And then "Next."

Next, it's time for partitioning, which is very flexible, but generally according to this rule (this is the division on the server, if you are a virtual machine, please see the following section):

/ boot Partition 100m

2 times the memory of Swap partition. If it is greater than or equal to 4G, you only need to give 4G.

/ Partition to 20g

Spare space for / data

Description: / boot partition is the file needed for system startup, just like the windows directory in windows's C disk, the file in this partition is not large, only 100m is enough. Swap partitions are swap partitions, and when there is not enough memory, the system will use this space as memory. / partition, which is actually a root directory, will be introduced in later chapters. It doesn't matter if you don't understand now, as long as you know that there is such a thing. The partition / data is customized by us, that is, it is dedicated to storing data.

If you have a virtual machine installed and you have only 8 gigabytes of disk space, I suggest you partition it like this:

1 / boot 100M

2 times the memory of 2 swap

3 / all remaining space

After partitioning, click "Next"

You can tick before Use a boot loader password. This option is used to add a password to boot loader to prevent anyone from entering single-user mode through the CD to change the root password.

This step is to configure the Nic information. You can now customize the IP of the Nic and configure the hostname, which is obtained by default through DHCP, or you can click manually to customize a hostname, such as mail.example.com. If neither of these methods is configured, then linux will configure you with an omnipotent hostname, that is, the rest of the localhost.localdomain will not be configured and will be left blank by default.

Next, select the time zone, where of course we choose our time zone Asia/Chongqing. If there is no Chongqing, then choose Asia/Shanghai.

Here we have to choose the package to install. I am used to custom installation. I need to click "customize now" below and then take the next step.

"Desktop Environments" look to the right and uncheck the front of GNOME. This is actually the installation package for the graphical interface. If you don't remove this check, the graphical interface will be installed.

Do not "Applications" except the tick before Editors is removed.

All "Development" should be checked.

"Servers" and all of the following items are unchecked, and then the next step
