In NAT mode in vmware, the virtual machine can communicate with the host through ping. Why can't the virtual machine surf the Internet?

Option 1:

1. Set the network connection of the virtual machine to bridge or NAT.

2. Set the virtual machine and the host to the same network segment

3. Double-click to open the local connection and display the local connection status

4. Select details

5. Check the ip address and mask

6. Select the attribute in the local connection status

7. Double-click to open the ip protocol

8. Check the ip address below and enter the ip address and mask you just checked. To be on the safe side, the default gateway must be entered (I have tried it N times)

9. Turn off the virtual machine "firewall"

Option 2:

If you can't even connect to the Internet by bridging, there are two possibilities. Either your VMware is a stripped-down version and the protocol is not fully installed, or you like to be versatile and change the original setting of VMware.

In the first case, download a new VMware,VMware7.0 that seems to be about the size of 500MB.

If this is the second case: right-click Local connection-> Properties-> General tab-> "this link uses the following items"-> check "VMware Bridge Protocol".

When the NAT mode is not available, the service related to VMware should not be turned on. Enable the service: click start menu-> run-> Type the following three commands:

Net start "VMware Authorization Service"

Net start "VMware DHCP Service"

Net start "VMware NAT Service"
