Configure Cacti 0.8.8a to monitor Memcache

System: CentOS 6.3x86x64

First, install memcache client API

1. Solve the dependency relationship

You can use yum to install

[root@message3 ~] # yum-y install python python-setuptools

2. Download and install

Download the latest version at ftp://ftp.tummy.com/pub/python-memcached/

[root@message3 ~] # wget ftp://ftp.tummy.com/pub/python-memcached/python-memcached-1.53.tar.gz

[root@message3 ~] # tar xf python-memcached-1.53.tar.gz

[root@message3 ~] # cd python-memcached-1.53

[root@message3 python-memcached-1.53] # python setup.py install

[root@localhost ~] # tar xf python-memcached-1.48.tar.gz

[root@localhost ~] # cd python-memcached-1.48

[root@localhost python-memcached-1.48] # python setup.py install

Download installation data collection scripts and templates

Download the latest version at http://dealnews.com/developers/cacti/memcached.html

[root@message3 ~] # tar xf cacti-memcached-1.0.tar.gz

[root@message3 ~] # wget http://s31.dlnws.com/dealnews/developers/cacti-memcached-1.0.tar.gz

[root@message3 ~] # cd cacti-memcached-1.0

[root@message3 cacti-memcached-1.0] # cp memcached.py / var/www/html/cacti/scripts/

2. If you visit cacti and import the cacti_memcached_host_template.xml file through a browser, you need to download this package locally. Select the file and select cacti_memcached_host_template.xml.

Note: if the port of your memcached is not the default port 11211, you need to modify the command to execute the script, as shown in the figure.

Click Memcached-Statistics selected by Data Input Methods

After the executed script, you can specify your memcache port by adding the-p option, for example, port 1111 that I specify here

Third, to monitor the memcached server, you need to add it to the device. Select the memcached template and ok. For more information, please see if the iptables port 11211 is open if the figure cannot be drawn.
