Manually change standard price usage

If the price fluctuation of raw materials and semi-finished products purchased externally has been obvious during the period, you can manually change the standard price of these items.

Standard cost estimates can only be issued once in a period. This ensures that costing results are consistent over a given period. This has the following effects:

● If you try to publish a standard cost estimate a second time within the same period, an error message will be sent.

A second marking or posting cannot be performed within the same period.

This message cannot be defined as an information or warning message through user-defined error management.

● If you attempt to cost an item a second time in the current period, an error message is issued.

Although items can be costed, the results cannot be saved.

This message cannot be defined as an information or warning message through user-defined error management.

● If you try to change the standard price in MM through the price change function, the system will issue an error message ( M8 155 ).

However, in customization of product cost plans, the system can be set up to send this error message as an informational message rather than an error message for some users. These users can manually change the standard price in MM. To access price change functionality in MM, select Logistics-> Material Management-> Evaluation-> Price Determination-> Change Price.

When a standard cost estimate is published, the new standard price for the period is updated to the current planned price and the current standard price in the item master record (see also: Publishing Standard Cost Estimates). In contrast, after manual changes, the manually entered price becomes the current standard price. The current planned price in the item cost estimate remains unchanged.
