For a while, for many old computers, this seems to be over: the hardware requirements of Microsoft Windows 11 will leave many old systems behind. Now, Microsoft has made it clear that the old computer will be able to run Windows 11 Murray, but it should be noted that users will have to upgrade manually.

The release of Windows 11 earlier this year caused a sensation in the PC world. Not only did most people think that Windows 10 would be the last Windows, but it surprised Windows 11. The hardware requirements of the new system caused a lot of anger. UEFI and Secureboot, TPM 2.0 and worse, the stringent requirement of 2018 or later CPU is new to Windows. Many users with old computers suddenly have to worry that the "life cycle" of their systems will end much sooner than expected.

Today, these users can rejoice because Microsoft has made its requirements clear.

The first adjustment is the list of officially supported systems, because Microsoft now includes some Intel's seventh-generation Core CPUs. That is, the CPU used by Xeon w, Core x series and some systems with i7-7820HQ, especially Microsoft's own Surface Studio 2. Systems equipped with these CPUs will receive the same update discount as all other officially supported computers.

The bigger news is that Microsoft will not completely block PCs that do not meet the requirements. To reassure fans, Microsoft will allow them to manually upgrade the system to Windows 11 using Windows Media Creation Tool or Windows Insider programs.

This policy allows Microsoft to maintain its hardware requirements, while enthusiasts reassure that there is no official support for the old system, and it is not recommended to update to Windows 11, but Microsoft will not simply eliminate the old hardware.
