Intel has revealed its plans for the desktop market over the next four years. The company's ambitious strategic vision leads other manufacturers in introducing new technologies. In the long run, this will enable Intel to create the first 2nm processor and gain an important advantage over its competitors.

The company also revealed plans to name its GPU Intel Arc, according to TheVerge. The updated brand will cover the hardware and software used by Intel's high-end independent graphics chips. The first representative of the series will be an architecture called Alchemist, which is based on DG2 and is expected to be in the first quarter of 2022.

The first real equipment will become a reality in the second half of next year. Intel Arc will cover desktops and laptops of customers in the company's main industries.

Intel has not released details of the Arc GPU technical specifications. However, the company showed videos of a new series of GPU prototypes, which can play games such as Metro Exodus, PUBG, Psychonauts 2, and so on. Intel Arc GPU will provide many smart features, including variable rate shading, video uplink, and ray tracing.

The combination of these functions will enable Intel to compete more successfully with AMD and NVIDIA. The tech giant is developing its own competitor, NVIDIA Deep Learning Super sampling (DLSS). This innovation is already part of the AMD portfolio and is known as FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR).

The name of Intel's AI accelerated supersampling technology is unknown. The new GPU will be able to improve games with lower resolutions to provide higher frame rates without compromising image quality. Battleimage, Celestial and Druid are code names for the next generation of Arc GPU.
