MiRTarBase is a database of miRNA target genes collected by hand and verified by experiments. The website is as follows

As shown in the figure below, the latest version of miRTarBase, V7.0, was updated on September 15, 2017, and contains a total of 23 species. Interaction of 4076 miRNA, 23054 genes and 422517 target genes

With the Browse function, you can browse the content in the database in four ways

Species

Statistics provides the corresponding miRNA target genes for each species, as shown below

Take Human as an example, it contains a total of 2599 miRNA, a total of 15064 target genes of these miRNA, while people have a total of more than 20, 000 protein-coding genes, nearly 80% of which are regulated by miRNA, which shows the universality and importance of miRNA regulation mechanism.

For miNRA-Target Gene, there are 380639 records, with an average of 380639 / 2599,146 target genes per miRNA, while each gene is regulated by an average of 380639 / 15064 = 25 miRNA.

The Search function provides a variety of retrieval methods.

For each record of miRNA target gene, a unique miRNA-target interactions (MTs) number is assigned, such as MIRT000287. The retrieval results can be screened according to the reliability of the experimental evidence.

MiRTarBase not only provides highly reliable miRNA target gene information, but also provides the related information between miRNA and disease reported in the literature.
