Once you have a github account, go directly to this page: https://github.com/settings/tokens, and click generate new token.

Write a description of token and check the gist option, and click next.

3. Upload your configuration to Github Gist

Open VSCode, ctrl (mac is command) + shift + p, type sync, and click Sync: Upload / Update Settings

After a successful upload, a series of messages will appear in the console output. Remember two key messages. Github Token is the equivalent of password, and Github Gist is the id you saved in Github Gist. You will need to use these two messages to download the configuration later.
