Shulou(Shulou.com)06/02 Report--
Upgrade instructions: https://blog.51cto.com/firelong/2140305
Fault 1:
Last week, on July 5, we upgraded sccm to 2012 R2 SP1, executed the upgrade program splash.hta, failed in the final core program installation step, closed the upgrade program, and opened the SCCM console to report an error as follows:
The Configuration Manager console cannot connect to the Configuration Manager site database.
Fault analysis:
Although the upgrade failed, it should not theoretically prevent the sccm console from being opened, and the error does not seem to have anything to do with the upgrade
The error indicates that the site database cannot be connected, but everything is normal before the upgrade, and there are no permissions and network-related problems.
Troubleshooting process:
1) after taking snapshots of SCCM and SCCM-SQL servers before upgrading, apply the snapshot first and fall back to the previous state
2) after the fallback, open the sccm console and still report an error and cannot connect to the site database
3) recall that on the day of upgrading sccm, the company banned weak password accounts, but the ccm management account sqladmin is a domain administrator, so it should not be checked on the list of banned accounts, but confirmed that it was indeed banned.
4) after the lifting of the ban on the sqladmin account, I still reported an error and burst into tears. Why did God abuse me? it all returned to the same as before, and you still have to do this to me. At this time, I suddenly thought that after receiving the notice to ban the weak password account, I revised and strengthened the password of the sqladmin account, but did not update the ccm database synchronously.
5) after SQLserver updates the password of the sqladmin account, it returns to normal.
Fault cause location:
1) ccm connection SQLserver management account sqladmin is disabled
2) after changing the sqladmin password, the update to SQLserver is not synchronized, so that the sqlserver mssqlserver service cannot be started
Specific operations:
Open the SQL Server configuration Manager, and after updating the sqladmin password as shown below, start the mssqlserver service:
If ccm has the reporting feature enabled, you also need to update the sqladmin password in Reporting services configuration Manager.
After the above operations are completed, open the Configuration Manager console smoothly. So far, the sccm has been restored to its original state without danger.
Fault 2:
After the baptism of stepping on the pit last week, I tried to upgrade again this week (July 10). After executing the upgrade program splash.hta, the core program was successfully installed, but when I opened the Configuration Manager console, I still reported the same error: the Configuration Manager console could not connect to the Configuration Manager site database.
Fault analysis:
This upgrade, there is no change in the sqladmin account. Although the error content is the same, it is certain that it is definitely not the pot of the sqladmin account.
I don't have a clue for the moment. Du Niang has no hair. I seem to be the first person to eat crabs and run into tears.
Troubleshooting process:
1) re-check the cause of the last failure, pass
2) Log in to the sccm server with another management account, open the ccm console, and the error is still reported.
3) check the log C:\ ConfigMgrSetup.lo_ for troubleshooting. The log indicates that the installation of the Configuration Manager console failed.
4) Dead horse as a live horse doctor, there is a "install Configuration Manager console" in the splash.hta program. After clicking on the installation, the console unexpectedly opened, calming down the excited mood.

C:\ ConfigMgrSetup.lo_ log hint: ERROR: Configuration Manager console uninstallation failed. Check log file ConfigMgrAdminUISetup.log.
After "install Configuration Manager console", open the Configuration Manager console smoothly:
View log C:\ ConfigMgrAdminUISetup.log:
At this point, it took me nearly 2 hours, and it was almost 24:00, and I was finally able to go to bed.
With this, I would like to commemorate my two difficult and thrilling SCCM upgrade process.
