1. Oracle 8i

Can be found under ORACLE_HOME/bin

2. Oracle 9i, 10g

Compile

Default directory:

The bbed executable file generated above is located in the $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/lib directory and can be copied to another location or run on another machine with the same Oracle version.

Specify the directory:

BBED library files are not provided by default in OracleDatabase 11g, but can be compiled with 10g files

Copy Oracle 10g fil

Copy $ORA10g_HOME/rdbms/lib/ssbbded.o to $ORA11g_HOME/rdbms/lib

Copy $ORA10g_HOME/rdbms/lib/sbbdpt.o to $ORA11g_HOME/rdbms/lib

Copy $ORA10g_HOME/rdbms/mesg/bbedus.msb to $ORA11g_HOME/rdbms/mesg

Compile

Make-f $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk BBED=$ORACLE_HOME/bin/bbed $ORACLE_HOME/bin/bbed

4. Configure bbed

Listfile format acquisition

Select file# | |''| | name | |''| | bytes from v$datafile

Create a bbed parameter file

Cat / u01/app/oracle/bbed.parblocksize=8192listfile=/u01/app/oracle/listfile.txtmode=editvi .bash _ profilalias bbed='bbed parfile=/u01/app/oracle/temp/bbed.par'

Set up

Bbed parfile=/u01/app/oracle/bbed.par

The default password is blockedit.
