Cloud data shares some of the key design considerations for building private and hybrid clouds. The most important advice is to build your cloud application in your application and business goals. For example, improving agility-- including reducing the time it takes to provide applications-- may be the goal of your developers, while cost savings, flexible infrastructure, faster market time, and business unit satisfaction are potential business goals.

For example, if you use Hadoop to manage and analyze big data, the virtual machines provided through the public cloud provider are different from the types of workloads you can build in the private cloud. You may need to comply with certain regulatory standards, usually involving security. Or, you may have latency problems with remote public cloud providers, which can make the user experience unacceptable, so choose to deploy the private cloud close to the user.

Because public and private clouds have different complementary advantages, many organizations are deployed in what is commonly referred to as a multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environment that spans multiple private or public clouds and may even contain a private virtualized environment.

Enterprises running applications on a private cloud (providing a limited number of resources) may choose to use multi-cloud or hybrid mode when their hardware exceeds. In this case, you can supplement your private cloud with on-demand resources from the public cloud. (this practice, often referred to as Cloud explosion-has several important technical and business implications, including latency and security issues. ) and vice versa: enterprises that use public clouds may have hardware available that they want to deploy to create private clouds. Also, they may have restrictions on where the data can be stored, in which case the public cloud may not be the best choice for some workloads. Multi-cloud environments are also common in organizations where different business units use different applications that can run in their own clouds.

Mixed environments can well handle untested workloads, such as seasonal promotions. Before making a major investment in internal infrastructure, organizations can use public clouds to test their code. If the new project is not successful, they will release resources and end the project. If so, once things become stable, they can transition to the appropriate private cloud-or if the project is very successful, they may remain in the public cloud.

Another use of hybrid cloud environments is hot backup to provide high availability (HA), fault tolerance (FT), and disaster recovery (DR). In this case, if the private cloud fails, the organization can start the application server and load balancer in the public cloud and utilize the backed up data until it is ready to switch back to the original system. You can minimize latency between private and public clouds by leveraging solutions such as AWS Direct Connect or Azure Expre***oute, thereby placing your production environment in a private cloud hosted by a data center that is closely adjacent to the DR environment of the second cloud-usually in the same data center.

When designing the cloud, keep in mind the hardware, network, and storage in the application. Standardized hardware equipment is a very good design because it allows you to easily add capacity and quickly replace failed components, but note that high-speed storage or fast processing has special non-standard hardware requirements.
