Due to the need of work, the folder of an application is backed up periodically by using Windows server backup program on a server, and the disk is found to be full after a period of time.

But click on the folder properties, and more than 50 gigabytes are displayed, as shown in the figure:

However, the entire disk block was full, opening and displaying shadow files, etc., all found out where the space was taken up. Later, when I opened the Windows server backup program, I found that there were 61 copies, but the program did not provide an entry for deletion, and then I began to think of ways to find information on the Internet, as shown in the figure:

The backup program that comes with Windows server2008 is a Windows server bakcup tool. Unlike NTbackup, the files backed up by Windows server backup need to be stored in a specific storage space, that is, setting a backup location requires a separate disk as the backup space, and the disk will automatically hide the drive letter and can only be read through Windows server backup. Therefore, under normal circumstances, it is impossible to access the backup files directly. If the backup disk space is not enough, you need to use diskshadow to manually clean up the older backup files.

Run cmd with administrator privileges, enter: diskshadow to enter diskshadow mode

Input: List shadows all

You can list the information for all current backups

Then enter the command to delete as shown in the following figure:
