I just changed the computer today (win10 Home version), inexplicably set the user name to a string of numbers, although it does not have a big impact, but really uncomfortable. The following is the process of changing my user name:

It is not possible to change the folder name of the user under disk C for an ordinary account. Renaming can only be completed if the login account is an Administrator account. Computer management cannot switch to an Administrator account because win10 Home Edition does not have "local users and groups" and must be upgraded to windows10 Professional Edition (not discussed here). Others say that adding new users to the control panel, changing the account type, and so on, are still not feasible for win10 Home Edition.

What I do is to run cmd as an administrator to open an Administrator account. First, enter cmd in the Cortana search bar and "run as an administrator". This takes you to the DOS console.

Enter net user administrator / active:yes into the console, open the administrator account, and the account can be switched. Restart or switch directly to the administrator account for renaming, but there may be a prompt that "the operation cannot be completed and the file or folder has been opened in another program" so that the renaming cannot be successful. Next, win+x (or Ctrl+Alt+Delete) opens the task manager, points to performance, then clicks on "Open Resource Monitor" below, finds the "associated handle" in the new pop-up interface, enters the name of the folder you want to change in the input box, finds the relevant unfinished process, and ends the process by right-clicking. It will be successful to change the name at this time.
