Microsoft has 21 data centers around the world, of which four data centers, Hong Kong and Singapore, Beijing and Shanghai, are built for China. Hong Kong and Singapore are disaster preparedness for each other, and Beijing and Shanghai are disaster preparedness for each other.

On Microsoft's official website, we will find that Microsoft calls the two data center versions of Hong Kong and Singapore the global version, and the two data center versions of Beijing and Shanghai as the century interconnection version, which involves century interconnection. it is because China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stipulates that foreign cloud operators cannot operate cloud business independently in China, so Microsoft's domestic data centers are operated and maintained by Century Interconnection.

So how do customers choose a data center? both versions are the same, right?

No, the functions of the two versions are slightly weaker than the global version. One of the most obvious differences is that the century interconnected version does not support Microsoft's RMS (rights management). This is not explained here, but I believe that in the near future, the functions of the century interconnected version will also go hand in hand with the global version. So does the customer want to buy something with strong function? Not necessarily. On the one hand, the function of century interconnection is increasing day by day, on the other hand, customers also need to consider the access speed, so if 70% of the customers' users are used entirely in China, we usually recommend buying the century interconnection version and, conversely, the global version.

Often encounter a customer scenario, the customer headquarters in Europe enough to buy office365, hope to use it in China, so how to buy it in China?

Because the same domain name can only be purchased on one data center, for customers, we first need to ask whether they purchase independently, whether they have a domestic domain name, whether they need to synchronize their address book and calendar with their European headquarters, and whether domestic users have a lot of foreign mail. If synchronization is not needed at all, but is used independently in China, customers can consider purchasing 365 from any data center according to their own situation. If you need interconnection with Europe, we currently have a third-party tool to synchronize the address book of contacts between different domain names. It is said that office365 will also have this feature in the coming year, which should solve the problems of many multinational companies.

Under the procurement method, the two data centers are slightly different.

Global version, only accept web-direct procurement, that is, online order, I will separately introduce how to place an order online, no invoice, only electronic receipt (E-Invoice), can accept Alipay, UnionPay online, credit card, transfer these four payment methods, can accept monthly payment and annual payment frequency.

Century Internet version, can place orders online, can accept Alipay, UnionPay online, credit card, transfer and other payment methods, only support annual payment, there are invoices issued by Century Internet (6% VAT service invoice) You can also accept Cloud Master pick up (what Microsoft calls CSP Model). Agents help customers pick up goods on their behalf. Cloud Master X × × has an invoice to the agent. At present, only annual payment is supported. The discount and account period are negotiated by the agent and the General Agent, and the Cloud General Agent is responsible for providing after-sales support.
