The landing of the new SAP project in January 2019

~ the pursuit of absolute sense of security requires seamless convergence ~

As soon as New Year's Day passed, I began my search for a new SAP project.

The author pursues the absolute sense of security and the seamless connection between the new and old projects. That is, you can not let yourself idle for a long time without a project to do, this kind of idle state, is the author's big taboo, absolutely try our best to avoid!

Therefore, every time the author finds a new SAP project before the end of the project, he pursues a proactive attitude. The first is to start looking for a new project a month in advance, and the second is to cast a wide net, not only to consult previous partners or former project colleagues to explore the possibility of working together again, but also to pay close attention to many Hunter advertisements in relevant groups.

~ the first week of egg setting ~

In the first week of January, the author began to pay attention to the demand information in the market. Headhunters in the WEIXIN group are desperately advertising and placing a lot of project requirements information. For so much project demand information, of course, the author will not be hungry. Based on the bottom line and geographical requirements of the project, the author pays attention to a project in Kunshan, Suzhou, a project in Shanghai, and a project that can work remotely from home. After updating the resume, it was delivered to the relevant headhunters.

At the end of a week, there is no interview. But the author is not in a hurry, after all, it is just the beginning, how can it be so smooth? And the end of the project is still early. So, every night after work, I go back to watch movies and chase TV dramas. I encounter wonderful TV dramas, and sometimes I stay up until 12:00.

~ the second week of slightly flustered ~

In the second week of January, the author mainly tracked the three projects that I focused on in the first week. The situation is not optimistic, although the author is very active, regularly communicate with headhunters to confirm the status. The feedback we got was either the customer feedback such as the resume had been recommended, or the project client said that the recruitment of the project team would not start until a few years later, or that the author's request exceeded the project budget. Well, whether the feedback from the other side is true or not, these three projects do not seem to be on the ground in the short term.

Two weeks later, around January 15, there was still no opportunity for an interview. This makes the author a little panicked! Watching TV dramas and watching American blockbusters, I have no leisure; when I read books, I can't be quiet; when I read articles on official accounts that I follow, I don't have any interest; when I write, I don't know what to write. The heart wants to be quiet and the waves do not stop! Some entanglement, some suffering.

~ in the third and fourth week, the interview opportunity blows up ~

If you cast a wide net, you can catch a few fish, right? The author firmly believes in this!

So starting from the third week of January, on the one hand, the author tracks the three projects focused on in the first week; at the same time, I continue to pay attention to several other project opportunities in Suzhou or Shanghai.

To my great displeasure, there have been no interviews for the three projects that I focused on in the first week. What is clear is that among the many new projects focused on in the third week, there are telephone interviews one after another.

The first telephone interview was related to base's global project in Shanghai and was interviewed by an Indian. Admittedly, it is challenging for Indians to be interviewers. The author believes that if you want to test whether a person's foreign language ability is strong, just let the Indians come to the interview, one is accurate! After receiving the interview notice, the author dare not be careless. After all, the heavily accented English of Indians is not so easy to understand at the first time. The interview went on as scheduled, and his Indian counterpart asked no less than ten questions. I can see that he was very careful and studied the technical details of the relevant areas of expertise. After half an hour's interview, the author breathed a sigh of relief that except for a few questions that could not be understood immediately, all the other questions were barrier-free communication. However, after the end of this interview, I waited for almost a week, and there was no follow-up, which seemed to be hopeless.

The second interview was made by the internal consultant of the client of Project An in a city in the Yangtze River Delta. Language is not a problem in the communication between Chinese people, but the other person is not jealous either. They specifically challenge me with functions that are not commonly used in SAP project practice. Such as segmentation evaluation, such as serial number management, such as dual units of measurement, and so on. These functions have not been used in the practice of nearly 20 projects that the author participated in, due to many reasons. Fortunately, the author indulged in the research and testing of SAP technology a few years ago, for these functions are still playing around on the IDES system, the basic principles and main implementation ideas of these functions are still very clear. So the process of the first round of technical interview was quite smooth. Before long, the second round of the interview (English interview) was held quickly, but the interviewer was a Chinese and a former colleague of the author. During the English interview, the author's former colleague looked serious and responsible, which made it difficult for the author to slack off. After chatting for more than half an hour, the other party said OK. Not long after hanging up the phone, I got feedback: "pass the interview and talk about rate tomorrow." At this point, Project A has been won. At this time, it is the last ten days of January. The author thinks that Project An is a reliable project. From seeing advertisements in the group, to sending resumes, to the second round of interviews, to the final feedback, only within 24 hours, it is really fast and ruthless! It can be seen that the A project customers are really looking for someone, and I appreciate their crisp style.

In the fourth week of January, I received an interview for the third project (Project B). Project B is still a global project, and in the interview, Nima's abominable Indian appeared again! However, before the Indian came forward, a Chinese colleague of Party B of the project came forward to spy on me and had a phone interview with the author on the technical and English aspects. After I felt that the author was not bad, the Indian talent came out. According to the conference call arranged by the implementation, I dialed in as scheduled and the interview began. The author is not very lucky this time. The Indian interviewer I met had an Indian accent that was too TM, so I struggled a little in this Indian interview. A whole hour of interview, the author dare not slack off, Indians are not vegetarian, ask more and more detailed questions, really difficult to deal with! After the interview, I received feedback from the headhunting company that Party An of the project was going to interview me, but the interviewer of Party A was all Chinese. The next day, the interview from Party An of the project (that is, the third round of interview) went on as scheduled, mainly by the relevant technical colleagues to interview my professional level. It was another hour of interview, and the other party threw out all kinds of problems encountered in their project and asked me to give the plan, of course. The interview from Party A, the client of Project B, also lasted for an hour. Not long after the interview was over, I received feedback: "when will you be able to enter if you pass the interview?" All the three rounds of interviews for project B, from Party B to Party A, last for one hour, and the arrangements for the three rounds of interviews for Project B are also very tight. I can see that project B is sincere and cautious, and I am satisfied with it. At this point, Project B was won, and by this time, it was nearing the end of the month.

~ from the project to me, to my project ~

Having won two projects, the author can breathe a sigh of relief. No matter which project you choose, no matter when the start date is, the new project can be landed. So the Spring Festival in 2019, the author can have a more leisurely time!

According to the location of the two projects, the height of Rate and the distance from home, the author chose Project A. After that is the routine, to provide personal information to sign contracts, and so on.

Project An informed me to start work in the second week after the Spring Festival, and coincidentally, the author's current project was postponed to Friday in the first week after the Spring Festival. In other words, after the end of the current project, the author only needs to take a weekend off and then report for work on the new project. The two SAP projects unexpectedly achieved a real and complete seamless connection, my pursuit has been realized!
