According to the latest data released by Apple, Apple's latest iOS 9 operating system has achieved 75% penetration in the four months since its launch (as of January 11, 2016), an increase of 5 percentage points from November last year.

According to Apple's latest iOS App Store developer page, 75% of iOS devices are running iOS 9. As the market penetration of the iOS9 system increases, the share of the old version of the iOS system naturally decreases, the penetration rate of the iOS8 system drops to 19%, and the remaining share is for other old versions of the iOS system.

In November, Apple's iOS 9 penetration rate was 70%, an average monthly increase of about 1 percentage point per month.

IOS 9 currently permeates much faster than iOS 8, which has a penetration rate of 68 per cent at the same time. It took six months for Apple's iOS 8 system to reach 77% penetration. Compared with iOS 7 and iOS 6, the penetration rate of Apple iOS 8 is very slow. In addition to its own vulnerabilities and lack of bright spots, iOS 8 takes up a lot of space, which at least requires users to free up 5GB space on their phones to get updates. In iOS9, Apple has reduced the updated size of the system to about 1.3GB, less than 1/3 of the space needed for iOS 8.

When iOS 9 penetration reached the 50 per cent mark, Apple claimed it was the fastest operating system ever to penetrate. Now, it is indeed.

This week, Apple released a beta version of iOS 9.3, with new night mode and education features. At present, Apple has opened the download of this system to developers, with the improvement of the function, when the new system is officially launched, it is believed that it will further increase the penetration of the iOS 9 system.
