Waze announced that it will be easier to drive through cold scenery from this week as developers add a new feature to their navigation application. Waze's new features allow Waze users to report snow in real time and check winter weather disaster reports on the map overview before deciding whether to travel.

The new snowfall reporting feature, developed in partnership with the Virginia Department of Transportation, enables Waze users from more than 185 countries to use the application to learn about winter weather and road conditions. This new feature can not only report the snow, but also show the roads that Wazers has not yet opened, which is almost unrealistic.

To make this feature more useful, the Virginia Department of Transportation plans to monitor all reports of navigation applications this winter and decide how to use the data next winter.

New features can be found in the latest version of hazard / weather / uncultivated road information. By adding new features, users can now report about five weather conditions, such as fog, hail, flood, ice and snow.
