Introduction

This article introduces that Windows7 uses netdom tools to join the designated OU. In this paper, the test client system is Windows7 Professional Sp1, and the AD domain is Windows Server 2012 R2.

This article tests that there are two ways for Windows7 to add fields to a specified OU using netdom:

Using netdom.exe and netdom.exe.mui on Windows Server 2008 R2, testing netdom with Windows Server 2012 R2 does not work. Netdom version 6.1.7600.16385 on Windows Server 2008 R2 installs Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) remote server management tool without copying the netdom tool. Experimental operation

Copy the netdom.exe and netdom.exe.mui files f from the C:\ Windows\ Systeme32\ netdom.exe and C:\ Windows\ Systeme32\ en-USnetdom.exe.mui paths on Windwos Server 2008 to the Windows7 corresponding directory

To allow cmd as an administrator, enter the following command

Netdom join computername% / Domain:domain.com / userD:domain user / PasswordD:xx / OU:ou=test,ou=ThinClient,DC=domain,DC=com
