Linux isn't as comprehensive in performance as unix, but it's basically more than adequate for individual users and small applications. Usually, if you have access to Unix environments, such as banking and telecommunications departments, it is usually fixed Unix. For example, SUN in telecommunications, HP in civil aviation, IBM in banks. In learning, different Unix command sets are somewhat different, so pay attention.

As for learning, I think linux is a bit easier to learn, and now there are more and more people who like and tinker with linux, and there are also a lot of information about linux. If you want to learn, Linux or BSD is a good choice. An x86 machine will do. In applications, unless it is a large website, general enterprises or individuals, use Linux.

UNIX is a powerful, comprehensive multi-user, multi-task operating system, which can be applied to many different platforms from supercomputers to ordinary PCs. It is the most widely used and influential operating system.

Linux is an operating system that looks and performs the same or better than UNIX, but Linux does not derive from any version of UNIX source code, not UNIX, but a UNIX-like product. Linux is similar to UNIX in terms of network management capabilities and security. UNIX system has been used as a high-end application or server system, so it has a complete set of network management mechanisms and rules. Linux follows these excellent rules, making the network configurable and providing great flexibility for system management.
