"The video appears to show One UI 2.0 running on Android 10 on Samsung Galaxy S10, showing new gestures, quick settings, etc. "
Samsung UI 2.0 is expected to be the next generation of Samsung's current user interface, based on Android 10(Android Q). Now, YouTube videos claim that we can see Samsung's upcoming user interface based on the Android 10 pre-release version as soon as possible, showing some important changes to the interface that comes with the new software. Although it is currently impossible to verify, there are elements in the video that seem to make the building real.
So, what's new? First, One UI 2.0 should improve the use of Android 10 gestures. Now, this is what Google itself requires when using gestures on Android devices, and Samsung agrees that better gesture interfaces and better user experiences are needed. The video in question shows a new gesture user interface that now has a separate bar graph at the bottom, compared to the three-bar graph design currently installed in Android 9's One UI 1.0. This makes the entire Android experience more unified, which in turn makes it easier to use.
Next on the list of changes is the Quick Settings drawer accessed from the top-Samsung seems to offer a full display area for sliding tile menus with the help of One UI 2.0. This means more settings can be accessed and can be better customized. The new menu also seems to come with media and app bars, which premiered on the Galaxy Note 10 as One UI, showing the natural evolution of the UI.
The video also shows some changes to security and privacy settings, although those changes may have been for Android 10 releases rather than Samsung's specific One UI. Other features seen here include the Link to Windows tile in the Quick Settings menu, which shows Samsung devices in the future will get the Microsoft-Samsung deep integration shown when the Note 10 was released. Our industry friends did an eagle eye look at XDA-Developers and found native screen recorders in the UI, which is also a very good complement to the flagship device.
Since we cannot independently confirm whether this video has been tampered with or is authentic, we offer our readers a disclaimer before believing everything that can be seen here. That said, most of the feature list seems pretty reasonable, which leads us to believe that this is indeed a legitimate preview of Samsung's next-gen interface. Soon after Google officially released Android 10, Samsung's new flagship UI 2.0 is coming, but it's only a few months away now.
