It is well known that Xiaomi 12 (formerly Mi 12) has been under development for some time and is expected to be launched later this year, probably after the release of the latest Qualcomm chipset. Many rumors have revealed a great deal of information about the flagship. Now, the latest news provided by Digital Chat Station leaked the camera details of Xiaomi 12. It looks like the company will abandon the recent 108MP sensors seen on Mi 11 and MIX 4. It is said that Xiaomi 12 uses a 50MP triple camera setting on the back. This means the phone will be equipped with a 50MP master sensor, an 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50MP telephoto camera. The latter is said to have a 5x periscope zoom function. However, Xiaomi is also said to be developing a 10x periscope.

Although it has been rumored in the past that Xiaomi 12 will be equipped with Samsung's upcoming 200MP sensor, we can speculate that it may be reserved for Xiaomi 12 Ultra. For now, Xiaomi 12 is still in the design verification stage, according to the whistleblower. This means that the final hardware details may be different. Xiaomi 12 is said to be equipped with a LTPO AMOLED display with adaptive refresh rates (1Hz to 120Hz). It is speculated to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 SoC, which will serve as a successor to the Snapdragon 888 chipset that powers Xiaomi 11. Xiaomi 12 will be equipped with the recently launched LPDDR5X RAM, which is said to provide maximum memory data rates ranging from 6400 Mbps to 8533 Mbps, twice that of LPDDR4X RAM. The phone is likely to launch Android 12 right out of the box, with connection options including 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS and USB Type-C ports.
