Building NBU Experimental Environment-- solving the problem of vistor License expiration of Virtual Tape Library

One of the common problems encountered by NBU is how to virtualize tapes for NBU use. After all, NBU+ tape libraries / virtual tape libraries are basically used in production environments. One solution is to install virtual tape libraries, such as vistor, mhvtl, etc. This article uses vistor 2.1.1 version.

License or the serial number that registers the activation from the official website has a trial period. The probationary period of the activation serial number on the official website is 6 weeks, so there is a common problem of expiration of the probationary period:

Vistor start starts vistor and activates vs-library-- setstate online-- libid 1 with library, then execute cat / proc/scsi/scsi to see the virtual tape drive recognized by the current system, and then set the system time to the correct time (the purpose of returning to the exact time is mainly for convenience of management and maintenance, job management, combination with oracle, etc.).

The date command adjusts the system time to May 2008 and starts vistor again:
