Problem description

When you run the nslookup command on the company's internal DNS server, the DNS request timed out. Timeout was 2 seconds. Default Server: UnKnown

Analysis of problems

When building an internal DNS server, we usually only use the default normal lookup area, that is, we only use the DNS server to resolve the domain name to IP address. In fact, the DNS server also has a reverse lookup zone, that is, it can resolve IP addresses into domain names. This occurs because no reverse lookup zone is created and the DNS server cannot resolve to the corresponding domain name based on its own IP address.

Solution method

Create a reverse lookup zone and add a pointer to the host A record attribute of the normal lookup zone.

1. In the DNS Manager, right-click Reverse Lookup Zone-New Zone:

3. Switch to the normal lookup area, Forward Lookup Zone-pushits.com, and find the host A record of the DNS server (mine is the host of this DC01):
