EVE-NG does not have enough memory? Teach you to expand virtual memory!

1. Log in to the system with the set account and password (the default account is ROOT password is eve), and first check whether there is enough hard disk space in the root directory of the virtual machine through the df-lh command.

2. Check the size of the current swap partition through the free-m command. The current system swap partition is 4GB.

3. Through dd if=/dev/zero of=/swap-1 bs=1024M count=16, create a 16GB exchange file named swap-1 in the root directory of the system. Of course, if the 16GB is not enough, you can create a larger exchange file by adjusting the numbers after the count. And use the cd / and ls commands to see if the swap file has been built.

4. Convert and mount the file format you just created by mkswap / swap-1 and swapon / swap-1 commands.

5. Use the swapon-s and free-m commands to check whether the swap file has been mounted successfully and the size of the current swap partition on the system. The size of the swap partition in the following figure has been increased from the original 4GB to the total 20GB size of 416.

6. Modify the fstab file under / etc through the WinScp tool so that the swap file just created is mounted automatically when the system is booted. Of course, it can also be modified in the virtual machine by means of vim.

7. Add a line / swap-1 swap swap default 00 to the fstab file and save the file.

8. Restart the virtual machine through shutdown-r now, and verify whether the created swap file is mounted automatically to expand the capacity of the swap partition through free-m and swapon-s.
