Starbucks has always been a company willing to experiment with technological innovation, and their recently released app is probably the most successful of these attempts. This is an input method application that provides Starbucks-themed emoticons. If you're tired of the stereotyped facial expressions in ordinary input methods, Starbucks is really worth a try.

The app, currently available in iOS and Android, contains two pages of Starbucks-related emoticons and a personalized keyboard with Starbucks colors / themes. These emoticons are a collection of all the popular Starbucks drinks-- but all in the form of take-out cups, no mugs-- as well as images of corporate logo, storefronts and villains holding Starbucks drinks.

After installing the iOS app, you also need to add it to the active keyboard in the settings menu, grant it full permissions, and then activate it using the Earth button at the bottom of the standard keyboard. Like most third-party input methods, when you select an emoji, it does not appear directly in the input box, but is copied to the clipboard for pasting.

The use of the Android version is similar. After installation, you need to activate it in the language and input in the settings menu and set it to the standard keyboard. It then sends these emoticons in the form of pictures. In short tests, the app performed more steadily on the iOS platform, but neither version worked particularly well. If you want to send a happy Starbucks expression to others, you may encounter some minor situations.

Starbucks said it will continue to add more content to the app this year.
