Shulou(Shulou.com)06/03 Report--
This article to share with you is about the future development trend of HTML5 is what, Xiaobian feel quite practical, so share to everyone to learn, I hope you can read this article after some harvest, not much to say, follow Xiaobian to see it.
What is HTML5?
HTML5 in a narrow sense
The HTML5 draft, formerly known as Web Applications 1.0, was proposed by WHATWG in 2004 and accepted by W3C in 2007, and a new HTML working group was formed. On May 6, 2013, HTML 5.1 was officially released. This specification defines the fifth major edition, the first to revise the core language of the World Wide Web: Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). In this release, new features are constantly being introduced to help Web application authors in their efforts to improve interoperability of new elements.
The hottest topic in web front-end development in recent years has been HTML5, which has fundamentally changed the way developers develop web applications, from desktop browsers to mobile applications.
One of the most debated questions in the mobile space is whether to develop Web apps or native apps. With the development of HTML5 standard, the difference between the two has gradually become blurred, today's major media are competing to report things related to HTML5, so, what is the future development trend of HTML5? Here are my thoughts and some of the things I've seen that I agree with.
1) Mobile priority
The day before yesterday, appMobi was voted ReadWriterWeb2012's Most Promising Company, a startup that first focused on how to make HTML 5 easy to use and ubiquitous on mobile platforms.
From today's endless stream of mobile applications, we know that in this era of smart phones and tablet PCs, mobile priority has become a trend, no matter what is developed, mobile is the mainstay.
As mentioned above, the question that has plagued the mobile space has been whether to develop Web apps or native apps. Today, we see some large companies such as the Financial Times doing well in moving into the mobile market for HTM L5, removing iPad native apps from the App Store and developing Web apps.
Many game developers will also play an important role in mobile Web applications, and the trend towards mobile Web applications will continue until mobile devices dominate the information processing space. In fact, users don't care what tools you use to develop what application, whether it is a Web application or a native application, as long as it is easy to use.
2)Game developer leads "starring"
Mobile game developers are the ones who benefit most from HTML5, as they can use the platform to escape the 30% commission paid to Apple for paid games. In some ways, games are the best-selling apps on mobile platforms and an important factor in attracting people to buy mobile devices.
Many game developers are driven by Facebook or Zynga, and the future Facebook app ecosystem is HTML5-based, although it is very difficult to develop games on HTML 5 platform, game developers are willing to do so. Packaging Web apps and games into native apps via PhoneGap and appmobi's XDK is also a way Facebook pretty much does that--Web apps and browsers based, but packaged and integrated into native apps.
3)Responsive design & automatically changing screen size
Before HTML 5 can really change the mobile development platform, a major step must be taken, which is "responsive design", that is, the screen can automatically resize according to the content.
One of the best examples of responsive design is BostonGlobe.com (watch videos), which launched this year. Its screen can adjust size to any content. After visiting its developer Filament Group, responsive design is not easy. Some basic conceptual design must be started from scratch, such as RespondJS for handling media libraries, and handling images and advertisements from third parties is also annoying.
Responsive design requires insight into the feedback relationship between content and screen, according to ZURB, a Silicon Valley responsive design firm. In fact, in the past 16 years, developers have realized that responsive design needs to completely move away from "flow" and focus on how content is processed in web pages and mobile devices. This process continues, and HTML 5 will finally make it possible.
4 ) Device access
The biggest obstacle to bridging the Web app and native app divide is the browser's ability to access basic features of mobile devices, such as cameras, contacts, calendars, accelerators, etc. In terms of using HTML5 to achieve this ability, appMobi mentioned above is the industry leader, open-sourcing all APIs after Thanksgiving. Mozilla has also been working hard to increase device accessibility through the mobile browser Fennec.
For many mobile developers, improving device accessibility is the most exciting innovation of HTML5, which means that Web applications can be shipped to mobile devices without any PhoneGap packaging, and game developers are certainly the happiest because certain features are blocked from them, such as accelerators that can be integrated into games.
This opens up another world of possibilities, such as better integration with the cloud (which facilitates in-app purchases, messaging, etc.) and improved game playability. With HTML5, developers can no longer rely on Java, CSS3, HTML, and other programming languages.
5)offline cache
This concept is quite trendy, offline, the app can also work as usual, is HTML 5 full of magic side, this year's best offline cache example is Amazon Kindle cloud reader, you can through Firefox6 above version, Chrome11 above version, Safari5 above version and iOS4 above version browser content synchronization to all Kindle series devices, and can remember everything users in the kindle library.
Amazon has made it possible to use Web apps offline, and many experts are saying that the end of native apps is coming because Web apps become easy to use, frictionless, and available on any platform or no platform. Mozilla's reach extends here, of course, and Mozilla wants to dabble in virtually any area where HTML 5 can penetrate, as Mozilla's mobile blueprint shows.
6)Maturity of development tools
In August, Brian Fling wrote a blog post called HTML5 Web Application Development Anatomy, which offered several suggestions for developers working on HTML5 applications:
Be patient, HTML5 projects may take longer than any other project.
Budget well, it's not as simple as building a website, it can cost you a lot of money
Finding the right developer, you have to remember, this is very difficult for many experienced experts, then your team will find it difficult, so be sure to find the right person, find the right direction
To be self-sufficient, you have to know that developing HTML 5 projects, many tools have to be homemade, not ready-made
In tech, a step-by-step, dogmatic style doesn't work here, it costs a lot of unnecessary money, and in mobile, there's no right or wrong, it's fit, it's all about the user experience.
In terms of tools, in addition to appMobi's tools, Sencha and Appcelerator provide frameworks and IDEs for app developers to use, although these tools are not mature now, nor as simple and powerful as developer frameworks and tools on Android and iOS, but at least they are evolving and will become more and more useful.
summary
Other features of HTML 5, such as forms and new standards, are still evolving rapidly, and HTML 5 may revert to HTML as standardization efforts proceed. The leaders in HTML 5 development include Sencha, Adobe, Appcelerator, appMobi and Facebook, Amazon and Google.
Whether you're a developer who wants to create new video apps like Brightcover or new audio apps like Soundcloud, HTML 5 is the theme for innovation, both desktop and mobile.
The above is what the future development trend of HTML5 is, Xiaobian believes that some knowledge points may be seen or used in our daily work. I hope you can learn more from this article. For more details, please follow the industry information channel.
