Install and Configure Oracle Grid Infrastructure for a cluser

RAC mode is installed, and even when there is only one machine, a single node of RAC is installed.

Configure Oracle Grid Infrastructure for a Standalone Server

1. ASM DISKGROUP is required.

2. You must have the password of ASM

3. ASM instance will be installed

4. The ASM instance will be started automatically

After installation

/ etc/oratab has information about ASM.

/ etc/inittab has information about init.ohasd.

There is orapw+ASM under $ORACLE_HOME/dbs

Ps-ef | grep ASM has information

Because it is a non-clustered installation, crsctl check crs and crsctl check cluster cannot be executed, but crsctl stat res, crsctl check css, crsctl check has can be executed.

Install Oracle Grid Infrastructure Sofware Only

/ u01/app/11.2.0/grid/root.sh executes the prompt to run the following command if you want to configure Stand-Alone Server

/ u01/app/11.2.0/grid/perl/bin/perl-I/u01/app/11.2.0/grid/perl/lib-I/u01/app/11.2.0/grid/crs/install / u01/app/11.2.0/grid/crs/install/roothas.pl

If perl is not executed, there is no crsctl, ocrcheck, ocrconfig, ocrdump, etc., under / u01/app/11.2.0/grid/bin, but there are srvctl, crsctl.bin, ocrcheck.bin, ocrconfig.bin, ocrdump.bin

After installing and executing perl

There is no information about ASM under / etc/oratab

There is no information about init.ohasd under / etc/inittab

There is no orapw+ASM under $ORACLE_HOME/dbs

Ps-ef | grep ASM has no information

Prompts after / u01/app/11.2.0/grid/root.sh

To configure Grid Infrastructure for a Stand-Alone Server run the following command as the root user:

/ u01/app/11.2.0/grid/perl/bin/perl-I/u01/app/11.2.0/grid/perl/lib-I/u01/app/11.2.0/grid/crs/install / u01/app/11.2.0/grid/crs/install/roothas.pl

To configure Grid Infrastructure for a Cluster execute the following command:

/ u01/app/11.2.0/grid/crs/config/config.sh

This command launches the Grid Infrastructure Configuration Wizard. The wizard also supports silent operation, and the parameters can be passed through the response file that is available in the installation media.

Oracleasm createdisk data1 / dev/sdf

Device "/ dev/sdf" is not a partition

-- creating an asmdisk cannot be an entire disk, it must be a partition

Standalone server has two steps: Create ASM Disk Group and ASM Password.

There are no two steps of Create ASM Disk Group and ASM Password in Software Only
