When you uninstall the old MYSQL database service from your computer, first stop the MYSQL service in the WINDOWS service. Then delete it in the add and delete program in the control panel, but you can't delete the MYSQL service completely, so you need to remove your MYSQL service from the registry.

To completely delete the MySQL registry information:

1. Press [win+r] to open "run", and type regedit in "run" to enter the registry.

2. Delete registry information

Through the following path:

① HEKY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ MYSQL-Directory deletion

② HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ ControlSet001\ Services\ Eventlog\ Application\ MySQL-directory deletion

③ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ ControlSet002\ Services\ Eventlog\ Application\ MySQL-directory deletion

④ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Services\ Eventlog\ Application\ MySQL-directory deletion

Note: the ControlSet001,ControlSet002 in the registry may not be 001 and 002, but may be ControlSet005, 006 and so on. When you delete it, you can delete it.

3. Query MySQL on disk C (it may be hidden, just show hidden files) and delete them all.

Example: delete the MySQL folder under C:\ ProgramData\, delete the my.ini file under the C:\ WINDOWS directory, delete the C:\ Documents and Settings\ All Users\ Application Data\ MySQL file

4. Restart the computer

So you can reinstall MySQL!
