A newly released and quickly deleted to-do list found on Wednesday shows that Apple is trying to provide travel advice and other editors to Maps, which amounts to a similar integration of leading mapping services.

On Monday, the list of "product managers-maps, writers / editors" was posted on Apple's Jobs website. The document seeks an employee to work in the company's office in Culver, Calif., and to "help the Apple Maps team build and develop a whole new content category" on the edge of the report. This post was deleted on Wednesday.

In the attached job description, Apple details major extensions to Google Maps, which will include selected editors for travelers and local explorers.

The company points out that map products have gone beyond peer-to-peer vehicle navigation to become a "location-based service platform that can help people understand the real world". To meet rising industry standards, Apple is looking for candidates to build editorial content that can "help users explore the world."

Apple lists the same key qualifications as travel writers. We hope that some people in the company will have the characteristics of "curiosity, discovering new places, telling the world in fascinating ways" and "understanding the trends of food, travel and shopping".

Although it has not been confirmed, Apple may want to add the recommended parts to the map. App Store provides similar functions on the Today Planning page, providing users with application guides, in-depth behind-the-scenes stories, application recommendations, and so on.

Competitive Google Maps offers short edits in Google's local guide, including local hotspots, divided into categories such as "things like kids", "relaxation days and spas" and "classic selfie spots". Enhanced Google content is a list submitted by users, usually sorted by popularity.

Currently, Apple has integrated Siri intelligence to provide map users with a list of "favorites" that they often visit. You can also manually save the favorites location in the favorites tab. The service does include Yelp scores from nearby restaurants and stores, but does not include suggestions from Apple employees.
