TPS is the abbreviation of Transactions Per Second, that is, the number of tasks per second. It is the measurement unit of the result of software test. One service is that a guest machine sends a request to the server, and then the server makes a response process. The guest machine starts to count the time when sending the request, and ends the time when it is received by the server, so as to calculate the number of tasks used and completed, and finally use these messages to estimate the score. The weighted co-function square method is used to calculate the score of the client machine, and the test software is to use these messages of the client machine to calculate the whole TPS score of the server.

TPS mainly reflects the speed at which the server processes the currently recorded transactions. If the performance is good, it is still not enough to support it.

If the application is simple, garbage servers can also have a high tps.

Now set up three situations in a scene:

1. Add anything to the script, only set each Action as a transaction, and run the scenario to get TPS1.

2. Set each function operation as a transaction, and run the scenario to get the TPS2

3. In an action with hundreds or thousands of steps, a transaction is manually added in the middle step, and the TPS3 is obtained by running the scenario.

With these three settings, the TPS must be different, TPS2 > TPS3 > TPS1.

So if so, how can we evaluate the processing capacity of the system according to the value of TPS?

You can't just understand TPS, you have to look at it in conjunction with HPS. For example, recording is a website, there are a lot of pictures, there are many links. In this way, after the stress test, TPS will naturally be very high. Of course, it does not mean that the performance of the server is very good. And in report, we can only make the most superficial analysis by combining CPU, memory, Imax O, etc. TPS and HITS.
