The new SurfaceBook laptop is a beast, and SurfaceStudio offers a new and brand new overall PC. With that in mind, Apple has some work to do if it wants to regain focus and refocus attention on an updated Mac lineup.

Apple's next-generation Mac Book Pro features a new aluminum design and is rumored to have a new OLED touch screen on top of the keyboard. As far as color goes, it comes in silver and space gray--a somewhat odd choice considering there are no space gray iPhones anymore.

The new 13-inch Mac Book Pro model is 23% smaller than the previous generation and only 14.9mm thick. Of course, it's much lighter than the old model.

The 15-inch specialty is 15.5mm thick, 20% smaller than the older model. It weighs only four pounds, half a pound lighter than the old model.

The new force touchpad is twice as large as the old one. It has the same enhanced tactile feedback as the home button on the iPhone, and it does. Huge.

A new OLED retina display with gesture support and multitouch replaces the function keys on Apple's keyboard. That's fantastic.

The touch bar allows users to access all standard function keys so that no functionality is lost, but it can also be adapted to each app you use. It can also provide new surfaces and controls for certain applications. For example, you can browse videos in Final Clip or flip images along photos on the touch bar by swiping your finger in the Photos app.

Apple's new TouchBar also displays quick typing suggestions as you type. Anyone who owns an iPhone or iPad knows that QuickType displays text, emoji and other suggestions as you type, and it learns and gets better as you continue to use it.

The new generation of the second generation Touch ID fingerprint scanner is a touch stick embedded in the right end of the sapphire crystal. Touch ID can be used to verify Apple payments and purchases, unlock MacBook Pro, and more.

Compared to Apple's previous Mac Book Pro, the new wide-color screen is 67% brighter, 67% more contrast, and 25% more color.
