First, share a wireless connection or a local connection to VMnet8.

In the network configuration, select Wireless connection, right-click Properties, and share.

The virtual network card VMnet8 is assigned by default, and IP:192.168.137.1 is assigned.

Second, configure VMnet8 in VMware

1) Edit > Virtual Network Editor. Select VMnet8. Configure the subnet IP:192.168.101.0. Remove the Use local DHCP service to distribute IP address to VMs option.

2) you can see that the IP of the virtual network card VMnet8 has become 192.168.101.1.

3) View the gateway. Edit > Virtual Network Editor > Select VMnet8 > Nat Settings. You can see that the IP of the gateway is 192.168.101.2.

Third, configure static IP of virtual machine

1) configure the gateway for CentOS.

# vi / etc/sysconfig/networkNETWORKING=yes HOSTNAME=centos64idx1 GATEWAY=192.168.101.2

2) modify the etho configuration of the network card. Configure IP to 192.168.101.130. Here, DNS1 must be set or the domain name cannot be resolved. (mainly modify IPADDR and DNS1)

3) modify resolv.conf.

# vi / etc/resolv.confnameserver 192.168.101.2

4) restart the network card.

# service network restart

Fourth, check the network.

1) Virtual machine ping external network.

# ping www.baidu.com

2) the host ping virtual machine. Ping 192.168.101.130 in cmd.

Fifth, if you cannot access the public network, you can try to turn off local sharing.

It is OK for me to share wireless to vmare8 network card on my laptop. However, if you connect to the vmware8 card locally on a pc computer, you will not be able to connect to the external network. If you need to turn off sharing, you can ping baidu.)
