Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--
Editor to share with you what is the difference between HTTP and HTTPS. I hope you will gain a lot after reading this article. Let's discuss the methods together.
When you visit a web page, if you are careful enough, you will find that some websites start with http, while others start with https.
Both HTTP and HTTPS are network protocols. According to this network protocol, the browser transmits data to the website server, the server transmits the page data to the browser, the browser displays the page on the user's computer, and the browser will submit the user data to the website server according to the user's input on the page.
HTTP is the most common network protocol at present, but it has a huge security risk, that is, HTTP protocol uses plaintext data transmission mode.
What is plaintext transmission? Give me an example. For example, if you log in with your account password on the page, enter your account number and password, and then click submit, then if you are using HTTP, your account password will be passed to the website server in clear text. So if in the process of data transmission, the data is intercepted by a third party, because the data is plaintext, then your account password will be completely obtained by the third party, which is the biggest security risk of HTTP.
HTTPS is different. HTTPS is an upgrade of HTTP. HTTPS will encrypt the data before data transmission, and the encrypted data is called ciphertext. The data is transmitted to the website server in the form of ciphertext. After receiving the ciphertext, the server decrypts the ciphertext and finally gets the original information. In this process, the data may still be intercepted by a third party, but the interceptor will only get the ciphertext, and the interceptor cannot decrypt it, so the user data is still secure, so the HTTPS website is secure.
So how does HTTPS ensure that encrypted data is not decrypted? Because HTTPS uses the encryption technology of digital certificate to encrypt data.
To deploy a HTTPS website, you must first apply for a SSL certificate. When you apply for a SSL certificate, you will generate a pair of key pairs (public key and private key), and deploy the SSL certificate and private key to the website Web server together, then you can enable the HTTPS service.
When users visit the HTTPS website, they will get the SSL certificate of the website. The SSL certificate contains a public key. When sending data, the browser will use the public key in the SSL certificate to encrypt the data. When it reaches the server, the server will use the private key to decrypt the data. Because the data encrypted by the public key can only be decrypted using the private key, and the private key has been saved in the server, others can not get it, so the interceptor can not get it naturally. Therefore, the HTTPS website with SSL certificate can ensure the security of website data.
