Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--
What this article shares with you is about the deployment and installation of openvz and kvm on the same machine under debian. The editor thinks it is very practical, so I share it with you to learn. I hope you can get something after reading this article.
Recently got a machine. Want to build a host that supports both openvz and kvm virtualization technologies. In principle, it is not a big problem, because the two are different levels of virtualization technology, one is hardware-level virtualization, and the other is cgroup-level process-level virtualization (if you don't know much about this, don't blame it if you're wrong). So it's possible to install it at the same time.
I searched the solution, and sure enough, there was a distribution of proxmox that addressed this requirement. I looked at the document and integrated a bunch of panels and so on. The more things I have, the more bug I have. Or diy alone.
Because openvz needs to be run by a patch kernel, while kvm requires the loading of kvm and kvm_intel kernel modules (amd is kvm_amd). So the difficulty is the compatibility of this. Other user-mode processes are easy to resolve if there are conflicts.
First of all, choose debian7 (I like debian) and find that you need to use the source of openvz, and the openvz kernel used in the source is 2.6.32. The kernel of debian7 is currently 3.2. The risk is relatively high. Drag the openvz kernel deb package from the source and find that 32-bit kernels do not have kvm modules, while 64-bit kernels do. I cried. I don't know what happened to them. So the 64-bit system started. It turns out that kvm_intel cannot be loaded. Report to input/output err. Report that the signature was rejected after being forced to load with-f. It is estimated that there is something wrong with the compilation, although there are kernel source code and .config, but still do not compile by themselves, it is too troublesome.
Still use debian6. Openvz is already included in debian6's official source. The kernel version is also 2.6ju 32 series. Same as the default kernel version of debian6. This feels good. Install the reboot and enter the openvz kernel. Modprobe loads the kvm kernel module. Ok, it worked.
The next step is the process and adjustments on the network. It's not a big deal.
The conclusion is that openvz still recommends using the package from the official source of debian6. Good compatibility.
This is how openvz and kvm are deployed and installed on the same machine under debian. The editor believes that there are some knowledge points that we may see or use in our daily work. I hope you can learn more from this article. For more details, please follow the industry information channel.
