Today, ETU-LINK will share with you a tutorial on how to implement 4x10G LC wiring in 40G MTP-LC optical fiber distribution frame.
The 40G MTP-LC fiber distribution frame is suitable for 10G Ethernet, 40G mobile networks, fibre Channel and high-end data centers. Its front panel provides 48 duplex LC interfaces, the rear panel provides 12 MTP interfaces, and the IU height 40G MTP-LC fiber distribution frame can hold up to 96 fibers.
Generally speaking, in a 40G network, each 40G QSFP+ optical module needs to be connected to four SFP+ optical modules through four duplex LC connectors. Therefore, in order to make the 40G connection more simple and stable, the interfaces on the 40G MTP-LC fiber distribution frame are divided into 12 groups, each with 4 duplex LC interfaces, which makes it easier to connect 40G.
As an ideal wiring solution, 40G MTP-LC fiber distribution frame has the advantages of saving space / cost, increasing wiring density, convenient management, flexibility and protecting fiber jumpers from damage. It also makes it easy to upgrade your network from 10G to 40G.
Realization of 4x10G LC wiring by 40G MTP-LC Optical Fiber Distribution frame
The 40G optical module can support the optical signal transmission mode of 4x10G, so it is compatible with the existing 10G optical module. The rear panel of the 40G MTP-LC optical fiber distribution frame has 12 MTP interfaces, including 8 transmission interfaces and 4 duplex interfaces (4 transmit and 4 transmit). These interfaces are connected to the 40G optical module on the switch through the MTP fiber jumper, while for the front panel connection, we can select 1 group (4) LC interfaces from 12 groups (48) LC interfaces. And it is connected to the 10G SFP+ optical module on the switch through the LC duplex fiber jumper. Therefore, the 40G QSFP+ optical module can be successfully connected to the 10G SFP+ through the 40G MTP-LC fiber distribution frame. (as shown below)
The 40G MTP-LC fiber distribution frame can connect 12-core 40G MTP-MTP backbone fiber jumpers to 48-core 10G LC duplex fiber jumpers, so a 1U height 40G MTP-LC fiber distribution frame can achieve 480g data transmission. Most importantly, the 40G MTP-LC fiber distribution frame is presented as a finished product of cable management, simplifying the cabling process and providing higher cable capacity in limited rack space.
