2.6.2 modify CIB using Pacemaker

On the Windows platform, WSFC itself supports multiple subnets and handles multiple IP addresses through OR dependence on IP addresses.

On the Linux platform, there is no OR dependency, but you can use Pacemaker to modify the CIB to support multiple subnets. You cannot simply modify a resource through the Pacemaker command, you need to modify the cluster information base (CIB). CIB is an XML file for Pacemaker configuration.

Export CIB

Sudo pcs cluster cib

Edit the CIB file

In the section, you will see the various resources created by the tail AG or FCI. Locate the resource associated with the IP address. For the second IP address, above or below the existing IP address, but before, add

Check and verify the failover

1.PING the DNS name associated with the IP address resource in Pacemaker. It should return the IP address associated with the current subnet that hosts the AG or FCI.

3. PING the DNS name associated with the IP address after AG or FCI is fully online. It should return the IP address of the second subnet.

4. If necessary, fail over AG or FCI back to the original subnet.
