The past few weeks have been bad for Microsoft as the company tries to fix new problems caused by botched Windows 10 cumulative update patches. Now Microsoft has finally fixed the multi-monitor stutter problem in Windows 10 version 2004, IT House reported.

Microsoft engineers said on Reddit that the problem had been troubling Windows 10 users for more than a year, but was eventually solved in Windows 10 20H1. This problem is caused by DWM, the window manager in Windows 10 that enables you to use hardware acceleration to render Windows's graphical user interface.

Most users are running dual monitor settings, and anything opened on the secondary monitor or the third monitor affects frame time and introduces microstutters, sometimes even if nothing is opened on the secondary monitor. using only dual monitors can also make frame time / microstutter worse.

DWM and multiple monitors with different refresh rates were eventually fixed in Windows 10 version 2004.

This issue has been fixed by Microsoft and some users have confirmed on Reddit that the problem has been resolved. However, this fix will be available to Windows 10 users with Windows 10 20H1 updates, so you will also tolerate multiple monitor stutters for some time.
