How to download Hadoop

Open the download address of the Hadoop official website, and the page is shown in the following figure. Select 2.6.5 binary compressed version according to the prompts.

As it is in China, in order to ensure the download speed, we can choose Tsinghua software warehouse to download. (the url picture is too small)

At this time, the browser pop-up download prompt window, select the path to download. Note: download prompt windows vary from browser to browser.

Installation steps for hadoop

Open the Ubuntu virtual machine and connect through Xshell. Create a software directory under the user's home directory (/ home/hduser) and enter the command mkdir software in the Xshell terminal.

The software installation files used later will be put here for easy management.

Open the WinSCP software and connect to log in to the ubuntu virtual machine. After successful login, enter the current user's home directory by default, and double-click the software directory you just created

Double-click and jump to the software directory

Upload the downloaded hadoop-2.6.5.tar.gz to the software directory of the Ubuntu virtual machine by dragging hadoop-2.6.5.tar.gz to the software directory by pressing the mouse below.

When the generation transfer is complete, the hadoop binary compressed file hadoop2.6.5.tar.gz exists in the ubuntu virtual machine software file directory.

You can view the file information in the software directory by using the command ls software/ in Xshell. Upload successfully as shown in the following figure

Extract the hadoop-2.6.5.tar.gz to the current user's home directory by entering the command tar-zxvf./software/hadoop-2.6.5.tar.gz in the user's home directory, and then press enter to execute

After the execution of enter, the compressed file begins to be decompressed.

The compressed files will be unzipped to the user's home directory. After the decompression is completed, the files in the current user's home directory will be viewed. As shown in the figure below, you can see the file hadoop-2.6.5, which is the decompressed folder.

Since the unzipped file name is a bit long, we can change the file name to hadoop, which can be renamed as follows: execute the command mv hadoop-2.6.5/. / hadoop. As shown in the following figure, check that the renaming has been successful through the ls command.
