Windows Server 2016 Routing and Remote Access

This lab configures Windows Server 2016 as a router, enabling multiprotocol LAN to LAN, LAN to WAN, Virtual Private Network, and Network Address Translation routing services for clients and servers on this network.

To use routing and remote access, configure the following:

A secure connection between two private networks. Virtual Private Network Gateway. Dial-up Remote Access Server Network Address Translation (NAT). LAN routing. Basic firewall.

Add the server role first

Add two network cards in Windows Server2016 as an external network and an internal network

192.168.4.44 192.168.5.51 as an intranet

Create an account for remote simulated access and give dial-in privileges

Open the Routing and Remote Access Installation Wizard

Select an external network segment as the connection interface

Assign DHCP address pool

Address pool allocation complete Select Next

You can see that after the completion of the new server is green enabled status, indicating that the configuration has been completed.

The following is to verify and log in to Windows 10 as the client

Add a connection to the workspace in the client

After adding the Internet address, the stand-alone is created.

Find the following illustration in Settings

Click Connect to enter the previously created account and password

IP address assignment was previously enabled on the client using ipconfig to see if there was any custom assigned IP address

You can see that you've got the internal segment of the server, so you can browse and access things in the local area network.
