Requirements:

In order to be able to rub into the neighbor's network (of course, with advance notice), the coverage of the signal needs to be enhanced. The original signal is very weak, it is very uncomfortable to use, so I thought of a way to bridge without money: add a wireless router, connect with the parent router in a wireless relay way, so that the coverage of the signal can be increased. It's cool to surf the Internet!

Although, the road has twists and turns, the main online reference materials are less, and different brands, different power of the heart is also very confused. But it still worked, saving the money to buy a router of the same model.

Getting to the point:

2 routers:

Parent router: TP-Link WR845N, responsible for PPoE dial-up wireless rate of 300Mpbs, support wireless bgn

Child router: Buffalo WCR-GN, bridge mode, for relay, wireless rate 150Mps, support wireless bgn

Set wireless relay key points, namely WDS(Wireless Distribution System), wireless distribution system, as follows:

1, 2 routers wireless channel, mode, band bandwidth must be consistent, must not choose automatic, otherwise it is easy because both are automatic, resulting in inconsistent problems.

2. Both routers need to enable WDS function and point to each other. There is also a sub-route on the Internet that can be added, but I failed to operate here, two-way add successfully.

3, 2 wireless SSIDs do not need to be the same, I can succeed without the same. However, considering the wireless roaming, seamless docking conditions, try to be the same, the same, wireless wifi password should also be the same oh!

4, 2 wireless password authentication method is the same, different I have not tried, the same is certainly OK.

The parent router uses PPOE mode for dial-up connection to the Internet, and the child router must choose bridge mode. DHCP should be enabled on the parent router and disabled on the child router in bridge mode.

6. IP address: After the parent router uses DHCP, I also use DHCP automatic configuration for the Lan port address of the child router. Of course, theoretically, it is feasible to manually configure the IP address for the Lan port. Theoretically, it is also feasible to configure the Lan port of the child router for different network segments (not tried).

7, different brands, different models can also be successful! You guys are careful, haha!
