Shulou(Shulou.com)06/02 Report--

Yesterday, to install the Windows Server 2008 R2 system with Dell PowerEdge T110, first boot into BIOS settings to boot from USB or DVD CD, and then insert the USB disk to boot the installation system. However, the machine could not boot from a USB disk or CD, so I went to BIOS again and found that the previous settings had not changed. After tossing around for a long time, I saw that a Caution appeared during the startup of the machine! NVRAM_CLR jumper is installed on system board. Baidu search reason is "installed NVRAM_CLR jumper. CMOS has been cleared" opened the chassis to see that the motherboard jumper (such as the following picture) has been moved, so the jumper will be restored to the default settings after booting the system from the USB drive successfully.

Jumper

Set up

Description

one

PWRD_EN

(default setting)

The password feature is enabled.

The password feature is disabled.

two

NVRAM_CLR

(default setting)

The configuration settings are retained when the system boots.

Clear the configuration settings the next time the system boots. (if the configuration settings are damaged so that the system cannot boot, install the jumper and boot the system. Unplug the jumper before restoring the configuration information. )
