I hope it will be helpful to answer the doubts about "installation and setting method of demodulator in XP system". Next, please follow the editor to study!
Generally speaking, according to the shape and installation mode of Modem, it can be roughly divided into the following four categories:
1. External type
The external Modem is placed outside the chassis and is connected to the host through the serial communication port. The Modem is convenient, dexterous and easy to install, and the flashing indicator light is easy to monitor the working status of the Modem. However, external Modem requires additional power and cables.
2. Built-in type
Built-in Modem needs to disassemble the chassis during installation, and to set the interrupt and COM port, so the installation is more tedious. This Modem takes up expansion slots on the motherboard, but does not require additional power and cables, and is cheaper than an external Modem.
3. PCMCIA card type
Plug-in Modem is mainly used for notebook computers and is slim in size. With mobile phone, mobile office can be realized conveniently.
4. Rack type
Rack Modem is equivalent to a set of Modem concentrated in a box or shell, and powered by a unified power supply. Rack Modem is mainly used in the central computer room of Internet/Intranet, telecommunications bureau, campus network, financial institutions and other networks.
In addition to the above four common Modem, there are now ISDN modems and a modem called Cable Modem, as well as an ADSL modem. Cable Modem uses cable for signal transmission, which not only has the function of modulation and demodulation, but also integrates router, hub and bridge, and the theoretical transmission speed can reach more than 10Mbps. Surfing the Internet through Cable Modem, each user has an independent IP address, which is equivalent to having a private line. At present, Shenzhen cable TV station Tianwei Network Company has launched this kind of Internet access service based on cable TV network, and the access rate is 2Mbps-10Mbps!
