This article introduces you EA customized class diagram display skills, the content is very detailed, interested friends can refer to, hope to be helpful to you.

When using EA (Enterprise Architect) to draw a UML class diagram, even the same class may want to be represented differently because of its different emphasis. For example, you may want to represent only the class name when representing the class hierarchy, and all the members when explaining the details. It is also possible to indicate that an interaction represents only a few operations.

Here's how to do these controls in EA.

Surface level control

Bring up the context menu in the space of the class diagram and select the [Properties...] item. The operation result of this screen will affect all the elements in the current surface.

You can control how the surface is displayed in the [Diagram] category:

Suppresses display of printed page boundaries-Hide Page Border

Whiteboard mode (all features show borders only)-Whiteboard Mode

Hand-drawn mode (looks like hand-drawn)-Hand Drawn

Show Namespace (display Package name when feature is from another Package)-Show Namespace

You can control how feature units are displayed in the [Elements] classification:

Display feature-level derivatives (StereoType): Show Element Stereotypes

Derivative information is displayed as an icon: Use Stereotype Icons

Display feature attributes: [Show Compartments]-Attributes

Display feature operation: [Show Compartments]-Operations

Show constraints (Constraints): [Show Compartments]-Constraints

[Features] Classification controls how feature members are displayed:

Show qualifiers and visual tags (public, etc.): [Feature Options]-Show Qualifiers and Visibility Indicators

Show the derivative of the member: [Feature Options]-Show Stereotypes

Return value of display operation: [Feature Options]-Show Operation Return Type

Ignore parentheses for no-parameter operations: [Feature Options]-Suppress Brackets for Operations without Parameters

Select the expression of the member according to the visual information: [Visible Class Members]

Select attribute representation: Show Attribute Detail

Select parameter representation: Show Parameter Detail

Feature level control

In most cases, this approach can meet the needs, but there are still some scenarios in which the designer will want more detailed control over the actual content that is available. The following methods can be used at this time:

Select multiple elements and then select the [Feature and Compartment Visibility] item from the context menu.

In this screen, in addition to selecting the visual range of attributes and operations, other controls can also be carried out. In particular, I would like to introduce [Hide Sterotyped Features], which allows you to further control the display of members by entering derivatives that you do not want to display (separated by commas in the middle).

Interestingly, if only one element is selected, this menu item needs to select [Features&Properties] in the context menu and then select [Feature and Compartment Visibility]. In either case, you can enter directly through the key combination Ctrl+Shift+Y.

On the EA custom class diagram display skills is shared here, I hope that the above content can be of some help to you, can learn more knowledge. If you think the article is good, you can share it for more people to see.
