This upgrade is to upgrade UCS Manager from 2.1a to 2.2b.

Officials recommend that the following preparations should be made before upgrading UCS Manager:

1), back up all configurations

2) check the HA status of FI

3) check the status of the Istroke O module

4) check the status of the server and adapter

5) download UCS software from the Cisco website

6) download firmware to FI

8) activate UCSManager software

9), update the basic firmware

10), update server firmware

11) enable Call Home

Actual upgrade process:

1. Check the relevant software version of the original UCS. The following figure shows the original 2.1.3a version.

2. Upload the software downloaded from the Cisco website to UCS Manager as follows:

Click Download Firmware.

Because it is uploaded from this book, select Local File System here, browse the file you want to upload, and click OK. Because I uploaded it wirelessly, I felt very slow. I waited for about 20 minutes to upload a file.

Upload in turn, and after completion, as shown in the following figure:

3. Activate UCS Manager

Select UCS Manager, then set the version to the newly uploaded 2.2 (5b), and then click OK. You will be prompted to log in to UCS Manager again. As shown in the following figure:

You can see that UCS Manager currently shows version 2.2 (5a).

4. Install the basic firmware, as shown below:

I ignored all of the above in this step, the next step of the direct point, and then as shown in the following figure:

Select 2.2 (5b) An at the version, select upgrade Now, and then click Finish to finish.

In the figure above, you can see that the firmware installation process is in progress. It takes a waiting process!

You need to activate it after completion. I didn't have a screenshot here, so I can only look at the following illustration:

It's already activated here, so it's gray. The following is a picture taken from an official video from Cisco:

Click Reboot now in the figure above. Waiting to be finished. The actual picture of 2.2 (5b) is not quite the same as above.

5. After upgrading the basic firmware, you need to install the software that updates Server. The specific method is shown in the following figure:

Select the new version 2.2 (5b) in the above figure, and then click next, as shown in the following figure:

Select root, and then click next.

Click Install directly in the above picture to install, and then go to the following figure, waiting for the update.

At this point, the UCS Manager upgrade is complete
