Web applications are inseparable from databases. At present, there are many kinds of databases on the market for developers to choose from, such as SQL, NoSQL, key value, graph database and so on. There are also different opinions on the popularity of different databases among developers, but through statistics on public cloud platforms such as Amazon, it is easy to find that there are big differences in popularity between databases.

Recently, Redis Labs, a startup that provides Redis and Memcaches database services in Amazon, Google, IBM and Microsoft Public Cloud, conducted a survey on the popularity of databases among developers. Redis Labs interviewed 126 developers using Amazon cloud services and drew some interesting conclusions as follows:
