One-click deployment of LNMP environment

LNMP stands for Linux, Nginx, MySQL and PHP respectively. This document describes how to use Ali Cloud Resource orchestration Service (ROS) to build a LNMP environment in ECS instances with one click.

ROS is a free service provided by Aliyun's official website. There is no need to download and install it. You can use ROS to create resource stack template files in JSON format, or you can use the template samples provided by ROS to create a set of Ali cloud assets. In this tutorial, we will use the LNMP_basic template provided by the ROS console to automatically create an instance of ECS and deploy the LNMP environment on the instance.

When creating postpaid resources, the account balance cannot be less than 100.00 yuan. It can be cash, available credit lines or vouchers that can be used to open products.

Operation steps

Log in to the ROS Management console.

Note: if you are using ROS for the first time, you must activate ROS service first. The ROS service is free, and there is no charge for activating the service.

In the left navigation bar, select key help > ECS instance related information to get the ECS instance specification, availability zone ID (ZoneId) and mirror ID (ImageId) you need.

In the left navigation bar, click the template swatch.

From the template sample, find LNMP_basic.

Click the Preview button to view the JSON file of the template. The top-level fields of the JSON file are explained as shown in the following table.

Click create Stack.

In the direct input section, select the specific region in the drop-down box of your region, and click next in the lower right corner of the page. East China 2 is selected for this example.

In the startup stack section, set the parameters:

Stack name: set a stack name that cannot be repeated and cannot be modified after creation.

Create timeout: set a time. If the resource is not created successfully within the set time period, the timeout is determined. You can choose whether to fail the rollback. If you choose failure rollback, ROS will delete the resources that have been successfully created if there is any failure during the creation process (including the creation timeout).

NginxDownloadUrl: use the default Nginx download address.

DBPassword and Please Confirm DBPassword: set and confirm the password to access the MySQL database. According to the template definition, the password can only include English letters and numbers.

ZoneId: fill in the availability zone where you need to create resources. See step 2 for details.

DBUser: create a user to access the MySQL database.

DBRootPassword and Please Confirm DBRootPassword: set and confirm the password of the MySQL root account. According to the template definition, the password can only include English letters and numbers.

InstanceType: enter the ECS instance specification you need. See step 2 for details.

SystemDiskCategory: select the cloud disk type as the system disk.

InstancePassword and Please Confirm InstancePassword: set and confirm the login password of the instance. According to the template definition, passwords can only include uppercase or lowercase letters and numbers.

Click create, and the page will prompt you that the creation request was submitted successfully.

In the left navigation bar, click Resource Stack Management to view the status of the stack. When the stack is created successfully, look at the NginxWebsiteURL defined in the Outputs in the output section. You can access the created LNMP environment at this address.

Description:

View all resources in the stack in the resource list.

View the action records generated by ROS during the creation of this resource stack in the event list. If any operation involving the resource stack fails, the reason for the failure of the resource operation is shown in the list.

View the original template of the resource stack in the list of templates.
