Availability zone (Zone)

The availability zone refers to the physical area where the power and the network are independent of each other in the same area. The network latency of ECS instances in the same availability zone is smaller.

The internal network is interconnected between the availability zone and the availability zone in the same area, and fault isolation can be achieved between the availability zones. Whether to put the CVM ECS instance in the same availability zone depends on the disaster recovery capability and network latency requirements.

If your application requires high disaster recovery capability, it is recommended that you deploy ECS instances in different availability zones in the same region.

If your application requires low network latency between instances, it is recommended that you create ECS instances in the same availability zone.

East China 1, East China 2, North China 1, North China 2, North China 3, South China 1 regional data centers provide multi-line BGP backbone network lines, network capacity to cover all provinces and cities in China, to achieve stable high-speed Chinese mainland regional access.

The Hong Kong Regional data Center provides international bandwidth access, covering Hong Kong, Southeast Asia and other regions.

Asia-Pacific Southeast 1 data center partner is SingTel (Singapore Telecom), is a superior operator in Southeast Asia, the company's business capacity, maturity is very reliable, can meet the needs of surrounding users.

The Asia-Pacific Southeast 2 data center is located in Sydney, Australia.

The Asia-Pacific Northeast 1 data center is located in Tokyo, Japan.

The United States Western 1 Regional data Center is located in Silicon Valley in the western United States, which is directly connected to the backbone networks of several American operators through BGP lines, which can cover the whole United States and radiate South America and the European continent.

The Eastern United States 1 Regional data Center is located in the eastern United States of Virginia.

Central Europe 1 data center is located in Frankfurt, Germany.

The Eastern Middle East 1 data center is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

How to choose a region Chinese mainland region

In general, it is recommended to choose the data center that is closest to the region where your target users are located, which can further improve the access speed of users. However, there is not much difference between Aliyun Chinese mainland regional data centers in terms of infrastructure, BGP network quality, service quality, and cloud server operation, use and configuration. Chinese mainland BGP network can guarantee fast access to all regions of the country.

Currently, in Chinese mainland region, only Huabei 3 does not support Windows 2003 Server system.

International region

International region provides international bandwidth, mainly for users in non-Chinese mainland regions. If you are on Chinese mainland, the access delay may be slightly higher, so it is not recommended.

Users who have demand for Hong Kong and Southeast Asia can choose Hong Kong or Asia-Pacific Southeast 1.

Users who have demand for Japan and South Korea can choose the Asia-Pacific Northeast 1 region.

Users who have a demand for Australia can choose the Asia-Pacific Southeast 2 region.

Users who have demand for America can choose the region of the United States.

Users who have a demand for continental Europe can choose 1 region in central Europe.

For Middle East users, you can choose 1 region in the eastern part of the Middle East.

Currently, the Windows 2003 Server system is not supported in the following regions: Asia-Pacific Northeast 1, Asia-Pacific Southeast 2, Central Europe 1, and Eastern Middle East 1.

Ali Cloud products in different regions are not interconnected with each other in private network.

The private networks of CVM ECS, relational database RDS and open storage service OSS in different regions are not interconnected.

There is no interconnection between ECS and other cloud resources, such as RDS, OSS and other private networks in different regions.

ECS between different regions cannot be deployed across regions, that is, ECS instances purchased in different regions cannot be deployed under the same cloud load balancer instance across regions.
