Method 1: ghostwriter and pandoc

When your document is complete, click File-> Export (or press Ctrl+E). In the dialog box, select among several Markdown converters. If this is the first time you have used ghostwriter, the default is Sundown converter. From the dialog box, select pandoc. Next, click Export. Now your EPUB file has been created.

Note: if you get an error related to pandoc, turn off Smart typesetting and try again.

Method 2: calibre

If you want a more perfect e-book, that's what you're looking for. It takes more steps, but it's worth it.

First, install an application called calibre. Calibre is not only an e-book reader, it is also an e-book manager system. You can install it from the software center or from the terminal:

Sudo dnf install calibre

In this method, you can write your document in LibreOffice, ghostwriter, or any other editor of your choice. Make sure the title of the book is formatted as "title 1", the chapter is formatted as "title 2", and the subchapters are formatted as "title 3".

Next, export your document to a HTML file.

Now add the file to calibre. Open calibre and click add Book. Calibre takes a few seconds to add files.

After the file is imported, edit the file's metadata by clicking the Edit metadata button. Here you can fill in the title of the book and the name of the author. You can also upload a cover image (if you have one), or calibre will generate a cover for you.

Next, click the convert Book button. In the new dialog box, select the layout tab in the Interface and appearance section. Check the "remove blank lines between segments" option. This will indent each paragraph more strictly.

Now, set up the directory. Select the content Catalog section. There are three options to pay attention to: first-level directory, second-level directory, and third-level directory. Click the magic wand button at the end of each option. In the new dialog box, select the HTML tag that applies to the catalog table entry. For example, select "H2" for the first-level directory.

Next, tell calibre to include the content directory. Select the "output EPUB" section and check "insert inline directory". Click OK to create the epub file.
